Ampersand Live is coming

Musician Tomo Nakayama is curating the upcoming Ampersand Live! showcase at The Moore Theater on November 7th. As part of this showcase of storyteller and musicians reflecting upon the theme of “fire”, I will perform a new work written for the occasion.

My piece will involve the recitation of a poem accompanied by footage from a folk ritual that takes place in Taiwan every three years. Taiwanese filmmaker Ye Mimi documented the festival during our travels together in Fall 2018 and Seattle artist Scott Keva James edited and made the final video. I’m very excited to share this work.
