Teaser for Redmond Lights

Thank you to Cleo Barnett for suggesting an animation. Thank you to Tiffany Lin for introducing me to designer Michael Barakat. And thank you to Michael for bringing this poem to life. And to the City of Redmond for your terrific support these past two years… see the whole thing on Saturday, December 2, from 4-8 pm on the back side of City Hall.

Redmond Lights

I’m finishing up my term as Poet Laureate for the City of Redmond and will be debuting an animated poem designed by Michael Barakat at Redmond Lights on Saturday, Dec. 2. It will be projected on the back wall of City Hall (facing the lawn) between 4-8 pm. Come out and see if if you’re out and about. And the Senior Center will also have on display the chlorophyll prints I made with Megan Bent.

David Kelly-Hedrick included some of my work in a text-based installation of poems carved into driftwood for his “Drift” project in the Poetry Garden at the Seattle Center. Celebratory reading at 5 pm on September 17.

VALA Eastside exhibition

I’m going to be showing a series of chlorophyll prints and digital prints with artist Megan Bent at VALA Eastside in Redmond. The exhibition opens on September 8, and the artists reception will take place on September 9 from 4-6 p.m. The show will come down on September 24 and will be on view Fridays-Sundays from 12-6 p.m. We spent Friday night framing and fabricating boxes and installed for 4 hours on Saturday. Please come out and support our work!

So Bazaar in Redmond

I’ll be working a poetry embroidery booth at So Bazaar in Redmond on Thursday night from 5-9 pm. A collaborative embroidery piece with Maura Donegan will be on display and we’ll be showing folks how to embroider textual fragments that I curated out from Redmond’s Inclusion Resolution and poems by Langston Hughes, Stacey-Ann Chin and others on the theme of inclusion.
